About the Role

Kasohkowew Child Wellness Society (KCWS) KCWS is currently seeking to hire a motivated and committed individual for the position of Custodian.


Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this position is responsible for the daily janitorial services of the Kasohkowew Child Wellness Society buildings.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous janitorial experience.

  • Certified training.

  • Child Welfare Intervention Check (No older than 6 months)

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (no older than 6 months)

  • Driver’s Abstract (5 year)

  • Driver’s License

  • Certificates of Education/Training (related to the position)

Kasohkwew Child Wellness Society (KCWS) is a child welfare organization located at Samson Cree Nation (Maskwacis) in Treaty Six territory. KCWS operates within a unique method of prevention and intervention that incorporates Nehiyaw culture, values and traditions into every facet of our work.

Our work supports families by keeping families together. We value connection, kinship, patience, compassion, love and care. Our programs include prevention, intervention, (re)connection, care, and cultural support. We work with kohkoms, mosoms, and community members to support the children, youth and families in our care to ensure Nehiyaw ways of knowing and being are incorporated into all aspects of our work.

KCWS incorporates Indigenous practices in protecting and empowering families of Samson Cree Nation to reaffirm our traditional Cree culture and to sustain a healthy community through enhancing the quality of life for our children, youth and families. KCWS achieves this by providing quality care and protection to Maskwacis children and families by reaffirming our Nehiyaw identity by incorporating our Cree values and traditions.
