Become a Caregiver through the Placement Resources Unit Program. The primary goal of becoming a Caregiver is to provide a child with temporary family care until the child can return home to his or her natural family.

Who can become a Caregiver?
If you are interested in becoming a temporary family and willing to provide quality care to a child in need, you can work towards becoming a Caregiver.
How do I qualify to become a Caregiver?
There is a screening process that is required by all families interested in becoming foster parents. The process consists of the following:

Foster/Kinship Application

Foster/Kinship Parent Agreement

Criminal Record checks (all people over the age of 18 years living in the home)

Intervention Checks (all people over the age of 18 years living in the home)

Home Safety Check

Home Assessment

Parent Preparation Training

First Aid Training
-
Confirmation of vehicle and home liability insurance

Three (3) Personal References

Medical References
