Our work supports families by keeping families together. We value connection, kinship, patience, compassion, love and care. Our programs include prevention, intervention, (re)connection, care, and cultural support. We work with kohkoms, mosoms, and community members to support the children, youth and families in our care to ensure Nehiyaw ways of knowing and being are incorporated into all aspects of our work.
KCWS incorporates Indigenous practices in protecting and empowering families of Samson Cree Nation to reaffirm our traditional Cree culture and to sustain a healthy community through enhancing the quality of life for our children, youth and families. KCWS achieves this by providing quality care and protection to Maskwacis children and families by reaffirming our Nehiyaw identity by incorporating our Cree values and traditions.
